  Kaufland goes live with Dutch marketplace Kaufland.nl, its eighth country

  Kaufland launched Kaufland.nl on 8 September 2026, its eighth country marketplace after Germany, France, Italy, Poland, Austria, Czechia and Slovakia. It opened with about 9 million items across 6,400+ categories and roughly 3,000 onboarded sellers, with Spain named as the next market.

  Why it matters Sellers already on Kaufland Global Marketplace can switch on a Dutch storefront now through their single registration, reaching NL buyers as a lower-competition alternative to bol and Amazon. Decide whether to list, set Dutch delivery and return terms, and handle VAT via OSS or a Dutch registration if you hold stock in the Netherlands.

  EU Council gives final approval to customs reform overhauling e-commerce import rules

  On 3 September 2026 the Council of the EU adopted its landmark customs reform. Non-EU platforms and distance sellers become the 'deemed importer' responsible for customs formalities and duty payments, and an EU-wide handling fee on small parcels will apply no later than 1 November 2026.

  Why it matters Brands importing low-value goods into the EU to sell on marketplaces face a new per-parcel handling fee from no later than 1 November 2026, stacking on the EUR 3 per-item duty live since 1 July. Confirm who is the declared importer of record for your flows and reprice landed cost before 1 November 2026.

  EU Cyber Resilience Act vulnerability reporting obligation starts 11 September 2026

  From 11 September 2026 manufacturers of products with digital elements sold in the EU must report actively exploited vulnerabilities and severe incidents to ENISA and their national CSIRT via the CRA Single Reporting Platform, with an early warning due within 24 hours of becoming aware.

  Why it matters Brands selling connected or smart products on EU marketplaces must have vulnerability detection and reporting processes plus ENISA Single Reporting Platform access operational by 11 September 2026, including for products already on the market. The 24-hour early-warning clock applies from that date.

  Amazon Pan-EU FBA now requires an active Netherlands offer from 3 September 2026

  From 3 September 2026, all Pan-EU FBA products (new and existing) must carry an active offer on Amazon.nl to stay enrolled in the programme. An active Belgium (Amazon.com.be) offer becomes mandatory at enrolment from 26 February 2027.

  Why it matters List every Pan-EU FBA SKU on Amazon.nl under the same SKU by 3 September 2026, or affected ASINs drop out of Pan-EU FBA and revert to higher cross-border (EFN) fulfilment fees instead of local rates, raising landed cost. Add Belgium offers before 26 February 2027 to keep new enrolments.

  France's B2B e-invoicing mandate takes effect for established businesses on 1 September 2026

  From 1 September 2026 every VAT-registered business established in France must be able to receive structured e-invoices, and large and mid-sized firms must also issue them via a certified platform. Sellers holding only a French VAT number, with no establishment, have e-reporting deferred to 1 September 2027.

  Why it matters Check whether you count as established in France (a French entity or fixed establishment). If so, connect to a certified platform (PDP) and enable structured e-invoice receipt from 1 September 2026; large and mid-sized firms must also issue. Non-compliance is fined EUR 50 per invoice, capped at EUR 15,000 a year.

  Allegro extends automatic refunds to allegro.pl from 1 September 2026

  Allegro extended automatic refunds to allegro.pl on 1 September 2026; the process already existed on its foreign marketplaces. For returns sent through Allegro's return methods with verifiable receipt, Allegro refunds the buyer on day eight unless the seller acts within seven calendar days of receiving the return.

  Why it matters Check returned goods promptly and record a full or partial refund, or a rejection with a reason, within seven calendar days when appropriate. These seller decisions take priority over the automatic refund. Monitor the seller balance used to fund refunds.

  bol told sellers to complete mandatory legal product information, including manufacturer name and contact details, before 2 September 2026. Items still missing the required data will be taken offline in phases from that date.

  Why it matters Open the product-information banner in your bol seller account and fill the missing legal fields for every flagged product group before 2 September 2026, or the affected listings drop offline in phases from that day and stop selling.

  On 25 August 2026, bol announced new Logistics via bol rates for shipment sizes 3XS and XXS, effective from 9 September 2026. The announcement says the shipping process and next-day delivery for these sizes remain unchanged.

  Why it matters Check the rate table that applies from 9 September 2026 and recalculate fulfilment costs and margins for affected 3XS and XXS products.

  Amazon sizes EU recommerce at 2bn euro, runs Second Chance Deal Days 1-10 September

  Amazon disclosed on 28 August 2026 that its European second-hand business now exceeds 2 billion euros a year, and confirmed a returns investment of over 4 billion dollars, as it ran Second Chance Deal Days with up to 50% off returned and refurbished items from 1 to 10 September 2026 in the UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain.
