Amazon opens AWD long-term bulk storage in Germany, France, Italy, Spain and UK from 20 August
Amazon is bringing Amazon Warehousing and Distribution (AWD), its flat-rate long-term bulk storage with automated replenishment into FBA fulfilment centres, to Germany, France, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom from 20 August 2026.
Why it matters From 20 August 2026 sellers can route Q4 reserve stock into AWD for flat year-round storage rates and auto-replenishment into FBA, sidestepping FBA capacity limits and peak-period storage costs. Decide now whether to send bulk stock to AWD; EU and UK pools are separate, so confirm local VAT and Pan-EU FBA eligibility before shipping.

Bol pulls solar-eclipse glasses from about 20 sellers over unverified safety compliance
Bol removed solar-eclipse glasses from roughly 20 sellers ahead of the 12 August 2026 eclipse, saying it could not confirm the products met the ISO 12312-2 safety standard and had seen a rise in listings altered to add unverified claims that they were safe for viewing the sun.
Why it matters The removals show bol delisting safety-regulated goods without notice when conformity proof is missing or listing text overstates safety. Sellers of certified products should upload valid ISO 12312-2/CE evidence and match listing claims to the certificate now, as bol enforced before the 12 August 2026 eclipse, or risk sudden removal at peak demand.

Amazon Spain blocks listings over missing Spanish RAP packaging (EPR) number
Amazon Spain has begun blocking listings, restricting accounts and passing on fines from €2,000 to over €100,000 for selling partners who cannot show a Spanish RAP number, the packaging producer-responsibility code required under Royal Decree 1055/2022. Many long-standing sellers were only notified recently.
Why it matters Any brand shipping packaged goods to Spanish buyers must enrol with a Spanish PRO and get a RAP number now: home-country EPR numbers are not accepted and the duty applies from the first unit sold. PPWR harmonises rules from 12 August 2026 but Spain's register stays mandatory, so register or pause affected .es listings to avoid blocks and fines.

Zooplus opens its marketplace to third-party sellers in France and Germany, wider EU rollout planned
Pet-supplies retailer Zooplus has opened an online marketplace to external sales partners in France and in its home market Germany, and says it will extend the model to more European countries over the next years.
Why it matters Pet and pet-adjacent brands gain a new marketplace channel: seller listing is live now in France and Germany via Zooplus, so category brand owners should decide whether to apply and onboard for those two stores now, before Zooplus adds further EU markets in the coming years.

Bol pulls seller stock offline after cyberattack at logistics partner CEVA
Bol said a cyber incident at warehousing partner CEVA Logistics exposed customer order data. Products from bol and selling partners at the affected distribution centre are temporarily offline, and some orders are cancelled or delayed; other bol logistics sites remain operational.
Why it matters Sellers using Logistics via Bol whose stock sits at the affected CEVA centre have those SKUs offline and orders cancelled or delayed from 5 August 2026, with no restart date set. Switch affected listings to self-fulfilment or other stock to keep offers live, and report any bol customer-data exposure via Partnerservice as required.

Bol accepts ACM commitments: fairer offer ranking, no data self-preferencing, more seller data
Dutch regulator ACM accepted binding commitments from bol after investigating its platform. Bol will change how it ranks offers, stop using platform data to favour its own retail offers, clarify business-seller terms, speed up complaint handling and give sellers more data and analytics. ACM found no legal breach.
Why it matters ACM's draft decision is open for reactions from 3 August to 13 September 2026; bol sellers disadvantaged by ranking or Buy Box logic can request file access before 17 August 2026 and submit views by 13 September 2026. Ranking and data-sharing changes deploy during 2026, so recheck your offer visibility and Buy Box share once they land.

EU AI Act transparency rules take effect 2 August 2026 for chatbots and AI content
The European Commission confirmed that from 2 August 2026 the AI Act moves into broad enforcement and its Article 50 transparency duties begin: chatbots must tell users they are AI, and AI-generated or manipulated images, audio and video must be labelled.
Why it matters Brand owners running an AI customer-service chatbot for EU buyers must add a clear 'you are dealing with AI' disclosure from 2 August 2026, and deepfake-style images or video depicting a seemingly real person must be labelled as AI-made. Breaches reach 15M euro or 3% of turnover; systems already live have until 2 December 2026 for the marking duty.
