On 3 August 2026 the Dutch competition authority (ACM) published a draft decision to make bol's commitments legally binding: bol will stop showing its own offers more prominently than third-party sellers', change how the buy box (koopblok) works, and limit how it uses and shares seller data. The draft is open for reaction until 13 September 2026.

Regulation (EU) 2025/40 (PPWR) begins applying across the EU on 12 August 2026, with separate deadlines for individual requirements. From that date, food-contact packaging first placed on the EU market must meet the regulation's PFAS limits.
Why it matters
Check PFAS compliance before first placing food-contact packaging on the EU market from 12 August 2026, including packaging made earlier. Packaging already placed on the market before that date may remain; the guidance does not require its withdrawal. Check the separate deadlines for other PPWR duties.
