EU battery label deadline depends on the implementing act

Article 13(1)-(3) of Regulation (EU) 2023/1542 sets a conditional application date for the general-information, capacity and non-rechargeable battery labels: the later of 18 August 2026 or 18 months after the relevant implementing act enters into force. The final implementing act and its entry-into-force date have not been verified for this brief.
Why it matters
Ask suppliers to identify the battery category and prepare the required label information. Confirm the published implementing act before setting a compliance deadline. The regulation separately provides for QR codes from 18 February 2027; battery passports cover LMT batteries, electric-vehicle batteries and industrial batteries above 2 kWh.
